MATT FELLINGHAM won the Mavis Drake Trophy at Royston Tennis Club on Saturday – the third time in a row he has won the Men’s Club Championship final.

He beat Andy Holmes 6-3, 7-6 to take the win in what were blustery and showery conditions.

In the Ladies’ Championship final, Della Gibson defeated 2010 champion Pru Burton 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.

And Gibson then made it a double celebration after her and David Addison overcame Roger Maybury and Emma Windred 6-1, 6-2, in the Mixed Doubles final to take home the Randall Trophy – one of Royston Tennis Club’s oldest original trophies.

The last two finals – the men’s and ladies doubles – are due to be played in the next couple of weeks. For full details of these matches and all other club information, log on to the club website at www.roystontennis.co.uk.
