Meldreth teenage dive sensation Daniel Goodfellow has been forced to withdraw from the England Commonwealth Games squad due to injury.

The 17-year-old had surgery in May on a troublesome elbow, however he has run out of time to prove his fitness ahead of the Games, of which the opening ceremony is this evening (Wednesday).

A disappointed Goodfellow Tweeted he was devastated not to be competing in Glasgow and had even collected his England kit ahead of the competition.
