COLIN EDGE won the Heydon Grange Golf Club Venerables’ 2011 Summer Singles Knockout Trophy last week.

He beat Merv Cooke 2&1 in the final of the competition that began with 44 entrants back in June. In a keenly-fought final, Edge did well to build up a lead and was four up with four to play only for Merv to make a late rally to take it to the 17th before Edge sealed the victory.
