Royston Rockets BMX Racing Club will be represented at the World Championships - after eight of their squad were selected.

Glasgow 2023 will be a first with every single cycling discipline being held at the same time and at the same venue, all beginning in August.

And the Rockets contingent will be made up of Ben Millington (male 12), Billy Irwin (male 30-34), Eleni Rushforth (female 13), Annalise Cadman-Carpenter (female 14), Elizabeth Bown (female 15), Freddie Cadman-Carpenter (male 17-24 & male 17-24 cruiser), Harriet Alexander (female 17-24) and Cara Rushforth (female 40+ cruiser).

Both Annalise Cadman-Carpenter and Bown finished second in this year's British Championships while Irwin was fifth and Rushforth seventh.

A spokeswoman said: "This is a fantastic achievement for our riders who have all worked hard, taking part in the national championships to gain their qualifying positions.

"We wish all our riders the best of luck and are really looking forward to seeing them race.

"The racing will be streamed live so keep an eye on our club pages as we will be updating our socials with the latest information making sure everyone knows where to watch and cheer."
