The reassuring smell of Bovril was in the air at Royston Town FC on Tuesday evening.

Royston Town lost at home to Hereford FC in front of a large crowd in the Evostik Southern Premier League at the weekend.

Royston Town picked up a cool £3,000 for beating Dunstable Town 2-0 at Garden Walk on Saturday – but for many it was the glory of progressing in the FA Cup that was more impressive.

Royston Town boss Steve Castle knows all about the magic of the FA Cup and is hoping to help his team enjoy a run in this year’s competition.

Hitchin Town picked up their first win of the Evo-Stik Southern Premier season by beating local rivals Royston Town on Bank Holiday Monday.
