I WRITE in protest at the inference by a town councillor that Royston Museum is run by people who are enjoying it as a hobby. Royston Museum is professionally-organised by qualified and trained staff, aided by a loyal band of volunteers. A visit to the museum website will illustrate that there is an exciting and varied programme of exhibitions and events throughout the year. The museum is, however, a little tucked away. It is therefore to be hoped that when the Royston Town Hall site is improved the museum will be given sufficient space to display its collections and become more readily accessible. I feel that it is important that we value our town and its past in order to think positively and creatively about its future. LIZ BEARDWELL Green Drift Royston
