The Flying Legends Air Show at IWM Duxford

The Flying Legends Air Show at IWM Duxford

If you were worried you’d missed out on air shows at Duxford this summer, then fear not – The Flying Legends Air Show will be returning in a couple of weeks.

The show is famous the world over for its unique presentations of historic piston-engined aircraft in rare combinations and brilliant flying displays.

Perhaps the jewel in the air show’s crown is the balbo, a massed-formation finale featuring many of the aircraft which have taken part in the flying display, unique to the Flying Legends set-up.

Not only will it be a chance to watch some unique aircraft take to the sky, but visitors can soak up the authentic 1940s atmosphere across the museum and vintage village.

Music will be provided by The Manhattan Dolls, who will be coming all the way from New York to join in the festivities.

There will also be the chance to have a photograph sitting in a replica Spitfire, enjoy the antics of Laurel and Hardy and take on a vintage look with a 1940s makeover.

The air show will take place on Saturday and Sunday, July 9 and 10 and flying displays are timetabled between 2pm and 5.30pm.

Gold passes are available for Sunday only as they have sold out for Saturday. Tickets are £34.50 for adults and £18.15 for children and the disabled. Under-fives go free and tickets are £27 for seniors.
