THRIPLOW Post Office will reopen next Friday.

The branch, in Middle Street, closed in August due to circumstances out of its control.

A Post Office spokes-person said: "We are delighted all our hard work has paid off and we have been able to secure the restoration of con-venient local access to post office services in Thriplow."

# The announcement comes at a time when South Cambridgeshire MP Andrew Lansley has backed a campaign to save rural post offices.

He said: "Post offices are the lifeblood of South Cambridgeshire's community.

"Their future is now under real threat and the Government needs to understand the import-ance of their valuable social role.
