A SPOOF of the Lion King has been entered in a national film competition by National Trust farmers.

The team from Wimpole Hall have put together the short as part of Farmers Weekly’s Welcome to Wellywood contest.

Lambing King parodies the iconic scene were Simba the lion is held aloft by his father to introduce him to the wildlife of the African savannah.

Animals on the farm have had a busy week with a special lamb being named by supporters of the MyFarm project, which aims to demystify farming.

It was formerly known as Son of RamCam and has now been christened Wimpole Thornhill.

Staff asked for names to be put forward and received 47 different names with Cromwell and Spartacus also considered.
