A spokesman for Govia Thameslink which operates the services on the line, confirmed British Transport Police were called shortly after 7am after reports that a person was on the line at Hauxton level crossing in Little Shelford.
Officers and ambulance attended and the woman was taken to hospital.
Train services in both directions were suspended for around 45 minutes and there wee some knock-on delays.
