THE Mayor Royston, Cllr Peter Lill, has died after a massive heart attack.

He died in hospital early yesterday evening (Monday) after collapsing at his Royston home in the morning.

Cllr Lill was due to end his term of office as mayor on Monday evening at the annual meeting of Royston Town Council.

The town council decided to cancel the meeting due to the circumstances.

Cllr Lill has previously been mayor in 2003-04.
