More than 450 people from Thriplow, Heathfield and the surrounding areas joined in the festivities which included floral displays and choir at Fowlmere Church, maypole dancing and a parade of decorated floats along Church Street.

Prizes were awarded by former speaker of the House of Commons Baroness Boothroyd with Thriplow C of E Primary School winning for their daffodil-themed float. Cake and fizz were served on The Green followed by traditional games and a tug of war between men and women with the ladies emerging victorious.

Chairman of the organising committee Uday Phadke said: “It was an amazing event to profile the history and success of Daffodil Weekend having generated over £500,000 for local organisations and charities”.

The 51st Thriplow Daffodil Weekend is to be held on March 23 and 24, 2019.
