South Cambs residents have their say on future of housing in the district

MORE than 1,600 residents in South Cambridgeshire have already had their say on the future of housing in the district.

Consultation workshops, including one in Melbourn, have been held in the last month, inviting people to voice their opinions on South Cambridgeshire District Council’s proposed local plan.

Residents are being asked their views on extra options for housing sites as well as where a possible community stadium could be located, and there are still two weeks of the consultation remaining.

Cllr Pippa Corney, the district council’s cabinet member for planning policy and localism, said: “It has been great to see so many residents and businesses attending our public consultation events to review the options in their area, ask questions and give their views.

“I would urge anyone who hasn’t already, to review the plans and take the opportunity to have their say before the deadline on February 18.”

Villagers in Melbourn have started the Melbourn Housing Development Awareness Campaign to ensure as many residents as possible have their say.
