Pottery, sculpture and felt- making were all on the agenda at Roysia Middle School.

The week-long programme was organised by the school’s leader of art, Elaine Baigent.

She said: “Each year group has a different activity, and we get professional artists to come in and work with them on projects.

“Year 7 have been making clay Dr Who sculptures because it’s the programme’s 50th anniversary.

“The children have been really enthusiastic and some of their work is fantastic.”

Headteacher Zoe Linington said: “I have been amazed at some of the things they’ve produced. Art often brings out the best in children who find it difficult in other subjects.”
