People concerned about the state of Royston town centre are invited to a meeting organised by local campaigner Clive Porter.

The first 2016 Save Royston Town Centre meeting will be held next Wednesday, January 20, at the High Street’s Old Bull Inn starting from 7pm.

Clive said: “Under discussion will be the on going saga of the now dangerous listed retail buildings, the dangerous, and disgusting state of the High Street, and litter.

“I have asked participating individuals to add any further matters they consider relevant to improving the town centre.”

People are invited to visit community website Streetlife to join the discussion about the town centre.

Anne Ward, 81, who worked at Royston Hospital for more than 20 years, but has since moved away, said: “It is my opinion that the High Street is a mess full of uneven stones and bricks. Definitely not safe. I would only go down on my buggy - safer that way.”
