The programme began with the full school orchestra playing We Wish You a Merry Christmas before the spotlight fell on the Upper Choir and the Year 5 and 6 Choir.

Other highlights included Streetdance choreographed by pupils Anna Burgess and Ellie Wilson, the Boyz Choir, the drama club, the drumming ensemble and readings taken from Michael Morpurgo’s The Best Christmas Ever before a finale featuring African Christmas song Kuyimba and the Shakin’ Stevens’ hit Merry Christmas Everyone.

The Year 8 technical crew ensured everything ran smoothly.

Head of music Shaunaid Crosby said: “The pupils have worked so hard preparing their repertoire. The level of performance on both nights was outstanding – the Christmas season is truly upon us.”
