Royston railway station now has an automated external defibrillator, thanks to a collaboration between several agencies in the town and further afield.

The new defribrillator is thanks to the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust, Royston Lions Club, the town’s Heasell Electro Mechanical Services and Great Northern operator Govia Thameslink Railway.

Royston now has six AEDs in total, which are available 24-hours a day, great news given that today is Restart a Heart Day 2018.
The day raises awareness of what to do if you’re met with someone in cardiac arrest.

As well as the defibrillator at the station, you can also find the devices at Roysia Surgery in Burns Road, The Health Centre in Melbourn Street, the former NatWest bank, the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance shop and The Heath Sports Centre.

If anyone wishes to know more about AEDs, email retired paramedic Rod Taylor on hertfordshireroyston@gmail.com.
