Members of the Royston-Past Facebook Group held their latest annual meet up on Therfield Heath on Saturday.

The event saw former school and work place reunions take place in the sunshine, with memories shared and friendships rekindled.

The social media group is active throughout the year and allows members to share photographs and memories of old Royston and in the last few years they have complied and published two books to bring local history records up to date and to leave their legacy for future generations.

Those who wanted to were able to watch and enjoy England’s World Cup victory over Sweden courtesy of large television screens inside and outside the Heath Sports Club.

Also sharing in the event were a group of motorcycle enthusiasts who had earlier displayed their machines at The Cross.

While many of those present still live fairly locally, others had travelled from as far afield as Scotland, where group founder Pam Hellyer now lives.
