Royston’s mayor and 40 guests enjoyed an evening of fine curry as they raised cash for two charities.

Cllr Bob Smith hosted a charity dinner at Yuva Fine Fusion restaurant in Kneesworth. Guests were able to enjoy a selection of dishes, including Jenju Chicken, a speciality of master chef Atlaf Hussain, who represented British curry chefs at an international festival in Slovenia earlier this year.

Cllr Smith said: “The magnificent sum of £404 was raised for my charities, CLIC Sargent, who offer support to children and young people who have cancer and their families, together with the Royston Town Mayor’s Community Trust Fund, which awards grants to local groups and organisations for community projects.

“Thank you to Yuva and everyone who attended on Friday.”
