People in some areas of Royston are currently unable to use the 999 emergency number on a landline phone to contact Herts police – and will have to use a mobile phone instead.

According to the force’s website, it is due to a problem which BT are hoping to have fixed by 4.30pm.

The landlines affected all begin with 0176324 or 0176325, so if this could be you and you need to contact the police in an emergency, call 999 from a mobile phone.
