LAYSTON Pre-school in Buntingford has received a Hertfordshire Quality Standards award and an excellent Ofsted report in the same week. The pre-school, which is among 40 providers of early care and education in Herts, received the award for quality childcare on Thursday. John Harris, director of children, schools and families who presented the award said: "Childcare professionals really do make a difference to children from the very start - congratulations to all for working hard and achieving so much." Maggie Ball, who runs the pre-school, said: "We were really pleased to win the award as we worked hard towards it. It's made us look at the way we practice.
