Greneway Middle School has been able to purchase a short-throw projector, an electric screen, sound system, two microphones and a lectern.

A school spokesman said: “This exciting development will benefit the school and community in a number of ways, notably presentation evenings, assemblies and lessons.

“Year 8 pupils have been trained to set up the equipment and have responsibility for preparing the audio visual equipment for daily assemblies.”

The school was able to purchase the equipment thanks to the support of county councillors Fiona Hill and Tony Hunter, who allocated them cash from their locality budgets. The two councillors attended a special assembley at the school to see the new systems in action for the first time.
