OLYMPIC triple jump star Larry Achike leaped into a Royston school.

Former Commonwealth Games gold medallist Achike, who finished seventh in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, visited Icknield Walk First School to meet pupils and watch them as they took part in PE lessons.

Felicity Dutton, PE co-ordinator at Icknield Walk, said: "I attended a school sports partnership meeting earlier this year, and this visit has come out of that. They provide part-funding to send athletes into schools to encourage children to get involved with sports and exercise.

"We've got the whole school involved doing various activities such as star jumps and sit ups.
