IT has been said that a pot of gold awaits anyone who reaches the end of a rainbow - but a Crow reader’s startling snap has laid rest to this tall tale, having found only tarmac.

Janice Thomas spotted this unusual photo opportunity when heading from Surrey to Buntingford and, after a friend’s advice, sent it to a national newspaper.

The catering assistant at Greneway Middle School said: “A friend was so impressed with it they told me to email to a paper, so I did next I know it was printed in the Daily Mirror, and also on the Daily Mail online. I then had a phone call from a newspaper in Chile who have also printed the picture.

“To be honest when I took it I was half asleep, my husband was driving, he spotted it and I picked up my phone and snapped it.”
