The incidents occured between Friday, October 25 and Thursday. December 12, with property taken from homes in The Causeway, Fordham Terrace, Poplar Drive, Kipling Road, Chaucer Road and Sorrell Close.

Detective Inspector Amanda Bell, from Hertfordshire Polcei, is investigating. She said: “I would like to reassure the residents of Royston that we are doing all we can to locate those responsible and the stolen property. Burglary and crime in general is very low in Royston but we are making every effort to drive it even lower.

“I would urge anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in these areas around the time of the offences, or has any relevant information, to please contact the police.”

As reported in The Crow earlier this month, an increase in burglaries in the town has led to police launching a new crime prevention campaign aimed at ensuring homes are secured.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting crime reference number G4/13/661. Alternatively call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
