Aaron Collis, formerly of Melbourn, appeared at Cambridge Crown Court today (Monday) after pleading guilty to charges relating to 12 offences, between 2002 and 2009, against four girls aged between three and eight.

He also asked for further offences to be taken into consideration against another 13 children, four boys and nine girls, between 2001 and 2009.

He was already serving an indeterminate sentence with a minimum of five years which was imposed in October 2009 and today he was given another five-year indeterminate jail term.

Collis will not be released until he is no longer deemed a risk to the public.

In 2009, he admitted 11 offences relating to five girls, including one aged 18 months, and was placed on the sex offenders register for life and made the subject of a sex offenders prevention order for an indeterminate period.

However, following his incarceration, Collis admitted the further 12 offences: nine sexual assaults, one indecent assault and two counts of taking indecent photographs.

He also asked for another indecent assault and four sexual assaults to be taken into consideration.

DC Jo Crisall said: “We now know of 22 victims and the fresh sentence Collis has now received reflects the gravity of his offences.

“His crimes have caused trauma and lasting consequences for his victims and their families and I hope they are able to find some crumbs of comfort by the fact that justice has been done.”

Collis first came to police attention after he loaned a video camera to a neighbour. On it was footage of one of the offences.
