A FAST food chain is set to open a new restaurant on June 26, creating 80 jobs.

Construction of a new McDonald’s restaurant on Baldock Road in Royston is well underway, following approval from North Hertfordshire District Council.

McDonald’s franchisee, Ismail Anilmis, who will be taking over the restaurant, said: “We are thrilled to be opening a new restaurant in Royston, and to be bringing over 80 new full and part-time jobs to the area.

“I myself started working in restaurants over 30 years ago, so to be opening a new restaurant in the town is a very proud moment for me.”
