The 23-year-old clambered on top of the Royal Bengal, in Royston High Street, and was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage.

He made the ascent at around 12.45am and allegedly damaged the listed building’s roof tiles.

Police were called after he was spotted and firefighters were then asked to help him down as he appeared to be stuck.

Their services were not needed and he made his own way down.

He has been bailed until October 6.
