Kickboxing students from Royston’s GMax Academy have had a dream training session with martial arts movie star Scott Adkins.

Oliver Keenan and Jamie Stanway, both 10, were given the chance by their instructor to train with the actor, who has starred alongside the likes of Jackie Chan, Sylvester Stallone and Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Scott most recently played the villainous Lucian, who fought Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch in the Marvel box office hit Doctor Strange.

The boys travelled to Croydon in south London to learn about the kicking techniques that have helped the British star become so popular.

Asked by Jamie about his on-screen fight with Jackie Chan in The Medallion, Scott replied: “Jackie Chan works very hard, but it was fun to get beaten up by him!”

GMax runs kung fu and kickboxing classes for kids and adults. See or call head coach Glen Stanway on 07563 755199.
