Three crews, two from Royston and one from Gamlingay, were called to the scene at Willmott Road, Bassingbourn, at 12.40pm.

They found the fire well alight on the first floor of the terraced house. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, and using a hose reel and a jet, brought the blaze under control. It was extinguished by 2.40pm.
