Artwork created by patients at a hospital near Royston has gone on display in London.

Patients at Kneesworth House Hospital in Bassingbourn submitted for the 2013 Koestler Trust Awards, and the best pieces can now be viewed at the Southbank Centre in London.

The Koestler Trust has been running the awards programme for secure patients, offenders and detainees for 50 years and aims to provide new skills, an outlet for creative emotion and a positive goal which can be strived for.

Five patients from Kneesworth House were selected for awards and to be part of the exhibition.

Joy Chamberlain, chief executive of Partnerships in Care (PiC), which runs Kneesworth House, said: “The Koestler Awards and London exhibition are very important events in the calendar for many patients within secure care.

“I would like to congratulate all our patients who entered the awards in particular those who have received an award or recognition.”

The exhibition runs until December 1.
