Police and an ambulance were called to the junction of Newmarket Road and Studlands Rise in Royston, at around 1.30pm on Sunday, following reports that the girl was lying injured in the road.

It is believed the girl was riding her bike when she was involved in the collision with the car, a Peugeot 306.

After receiving treatment from paramedics, the girl was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with minor injuries.

No one else was injured in the collision. Police closed Newmarket Road for an hour while they investigated the scene.
