Firefighters fight field blaze

FIREFIGHTERS battled a blaze in a Barley field last week.
Crews from Royston were called to reports on that a hay bale and two hectares of crops were alight at around 1.10pm.
The farmer who owned the Royston Road field helped the crews put it out by building a fire break whereas the firefighters used hoses and beaters to extinguish it.
It was started accidentally and the incident was over in less than hour.
