Nearly 600 bikers tackled a 60-mile route – which started at Welwyn Garden City’s police headquarters and finished at North Weald Airfield in Essex – as part of the charity’s Motorcycle Run and Family Fun Day.

The route saw riders head up the B656 to Hitchin, then along the A505 to Royston, before heading down the A10 towards Essex.

Supporters were welcomed at the finish by several hundred more bikers and families enjoying the Family Fun Day, which included displays by stunt riding team On the Edge, live music and supercar experiences.

There was also an inflatables zone, trade stalls and static bike displays.

Fay Boissieux, events manager at Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, said: “The Motorcycle Run is always a fabulous event and this year’s has been no exception.

“With so many exciting things for people to enjoy, there was no shortage of things to do and having such a beautiful sunny day was great too!”
