IT MAY only be September but the Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage is already gearing up for The Adventures of Robin Hood, which hits the stage on December 1.
Leading the line-up will be Brian Capron, who shot to fame as serial killer Richard Hillman in TV soap Coronation Street.
Brian will be keeping up his evil reputation by playing the Sheriff of Nottingham, a role he is very much looking forward to.
“To do Robin Hood and play the Sheriff of Nottingham will be a great experience,” he told the Comet at the launch on Tuesday.
“Pantos are great fun to do and the Sheriff shares something in common with a previous part I’ve played, Captain Hook. They are both self-serving and full of themselves which is wonderful to play.”
Brian, who revealed until appearing in musicals such as the Rocky Horror Show he had no real experience of singing on stage, said he still gets recognised up and down the country for his role in Corrie.
“Most people are shocked to see me but I’m amazed at how many recognise me,” he said.
“It was a big honour to play the part and a big moment in my career.”
The Adventures of Robin Hood runs at the theatre in Lytton Way from December 1 to January 27, 2013. For show timings and ticket prices visit www.gordoncraig.co.uk
