PUPILS at Layston First School in Buntingford were visited by Royston's Methodist minister during a special new year assembly on Monday. The Rev Ian Smart, who was accompanied by Ted the Bear, spoke about new year's resolutions and new beginnings. Headteacher Jane Sherwood said: "The assembly was about looking forward to the future and valuing where we are and caring about other people. "The Rev Smart bought the subject down to the children's level by interacting with his puppet.
