Cash was stolen when robbers targeted a village shop on Monday evening.
Four men threatened staff at the One Stop store in High Street, Meldreth, at 8.25pm yesterday. They demanded cash before making off in a red Subaru estate, registration number W894 VTW.
The car was later found burned out in a field on Meldreth Road, Whaddon.
Then, at 8.40pm, two men were disturbed breaking into cash registers in a bakery in Woolards Lane, Great Shelford.
The made off in a small dark estate car.
Detective Sergeant Sarah Gaylor, from Cambridgeshire Police, said: “We are keeping an open mind as to whether these incidents are linked and would urge anyone with any information to call police.
“We know the offenders from both incidents made off in vehicles and would appeal to anyone who saw those vehicles, in particular a red Subaru estate, driving away at speed last night.
“We are also keen to speak to the occupants of a two-door red vehicle, similar to a Ford Puma, which was seen driving past the robbery in Meldreth, as they may have witnessed the offenders.”
Anyone with any information should call DS Gaylor on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
