Police are investigating after thieves smashed their way into a Barkway home and took items including cash, jewellery and a war medal.

Thieves smashed their way into a Barkway home on Wednesday and stole items including cash, jewellery and a war medal.

The intruders forced entry to the house in Cambridge Road by breaking a glass panel in the back door sometime between 11am and 7.30pm.

The home was ransacked and several items were taken.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference G4/15/957.
