A car caught fire on the A505 between Baldock and Royston this morning.

Firefighters from Baldock & Letchworth and Royston stations attended the incident near the Weston Hills Tunnel at about 10.40am, and a fire service spokesman said the car was described as “well alight” when the two crews arrived.

The fire – which has been deemed to have been “accidental” – was out by about 11.10am.
