Children from Barley and Barkway first schools have enjoyed in a special assembly to thank them for taking part in a charity appeal.

Love Your Home-Start is a Hertfordshire-wide campaign which invited people to unite behind their community’s branch of family support charity Home-Start.

Senior co-ordinator for the Royston and South Cambs branch, Sarah Mascall, said: “We are really delighted that so many schools and our local Tesco store have supported our Love Your Home-Start campaign in and around Royston. We would like to thank everyone who has taken part.”

Sarah and Hope, the Home-Start hippo, attended the assembly for Barley and Barkway pupils where they explained about the work of Home-Start and thanked the schools for their donation of £60.50 raised through their dress down day.

Any other organisations who would like to join the charity’s 2018 campaign should call 01763 262262 or go to www.hsrsc.co.uk.
