Police have arrested a man who was believed to be carrying a fake gun in a residential street in Barrington on Friday evening.

Officers from the armed policing unit were called to Bendyshe Way following the reports.

A 22-year-old man from Cambridge was arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm in a public place.

He was later released on bail until January 4, 2017.
