An appeal has been launched to trace two men who may have seen an incident in Royston which left a 65-year-old with a serious head injury.

Police have launched an appeal after man who suffered a serious head injury while near Morrisons in Baldock Street and Princes Mews at around 12.40am on Wednesday.

At this stage officers say it is unclear as to how he suffered the injury, but that he was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. The man has since been released.

A police spokeswoman said: “Two men were seen in the area just after the incident and officers would like to speak with these two people in case they saw what happened.

“Anyone who was in the area and saw what happened or who has any information which would assist the investigation is asked to contact the Herts police non-emergency number 101.”
