Appeal launched after man tries to lure teen into car

AN appeal for information has been sparked after a man tried to lure a teenager into his car.

The 18-year-old was walking down Garden Walk when the driver of a green car approached the woman and asked if she wanted a lift - the teenager refused and walked off.

Sergeant Jon Vine, from the Royston Neighbourhood Team, said: “This is being treated as a suspicious incident only and we are not aware of any other similar incidents in Hertfordshire recently.

“However, we will be conducting extra patrols in the area in order to provide reassurance.

“The man was described as between the age of 50 and 60 and I would ask anyone who sees a man acting suspiciously who matches this description and is driving a green car, to write down details of car make and model and contact police via the non-emergency number 101.”
