The winner of the latest monthly Royston Photographic Society competition captured the gruesome image of a robber fly eating its prey.

Bob Coote was awarded first place by the judge - local photographer Naomi Saul - for the photo, which he took on his patio in the summer.

Peter Baker came in second place with his shot of a red-eyed tree frog.

The competition had an open theme, but the next competition is on the theme of 'people' and will be judged by Jonathan Vaines, after his recent presentation to club members.

Society members are also gearing up for a second exhibition in Tesco on Old North Road.
