Applications are now open for the Royston town mayor's community trust fund grant awards.

The grants are for any organisation "fostering a significant benefit for the people and community of Royston".

Money can go towards the setting up of a new project, a capital scheme or help towards a special event or activity that will benefit the Royston community during the period from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024.

Six grants were awarded for the period between April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023, ranging from £250 to £500.

Recipients included the Royston Speak Out Club, which is a charity supporting stroke survivors, family support charity Home-Start, and the Therfield Regulation Trust.

For those who wish to apply for a grant for the coming financial year, application forms are available now from the Town Hall office, or they can be downloaded from the town council website at https://www.roystontowncouncil.gov.uk/Grants_32994.aspx.

The closing date for applications is Monday, February 13.

Information about other grants is also available on the town council website. These include grants from the Leete Charity Trust, the Brian Leslie Racher Charitable Trust and the William Lee Charity, all of which are for Royston residents who meet specific criteria.
