A former Land Army girl who lives at Margaret House Care Home in Barley celebrated turning 100 this week.

Enid Niezgoda marked her milestone birthday on Monday, December 5 with a party for friends and family.

She was delighted to receive a card from the new King, and to discover it had been signed by both Charles and Camilla.

Enid was a Land Army girl in the war, which involved her doing a morning milk round with a pony and float. After the war she opened up her own hairdressing business.

As Enid has no photos from her time in the Land Army, staff bought her a replica uniform so she could have her picture taken, which was used to decorate her birthday cake.
