CISSIE Hart is 100 years old today (Thursday).

She has been a resident at the Margaret House nursing home for the past four years.

She was born in Birmingham but spent most of her life living in Hoddesdon.

Cissie led an active life, and worked in the service, but was born into a mining family.

Her husband worked in the police force and together they had three children, four grandchilren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Careworker Suzie Strange said: "Cissie has got a good sense of humour and likes talking."

Careworker, Hayley Shannon said: "She is funny and entertaining. She has worked all her life and we think that's the secret of her reaching 100.
