Knebworth Youth U16's were away to Baldock on a pitch which had clearly been reclaimed from a cattle field.
It started as a very fast flowing match, both teams attacking well, and both 'keepers were kept busy.
Lewis Hutchinson, Harry Tuttle and Casey Paine all infiltrated the Baldock defence only to have their efforts stopped by the Baldock goalie.
Jordan Angus filled a massive role in the centre of the field.
On a break Baldock sent a long ball over the top which was well struck from outside the area, skimmed along the surface, and as the 'keeper went to ground the ball hit a mole hill and went up over a full stretched Wyer.
With a bare 11 players, Knebworth battled hard and as fresh Baldock legs came on Panthers certainly had their work cut but their physically fitness and team work shone through.
Ryan Bosley was super cool on the right back. Grant Seals held the centre back rock solid and Jordan Borrie made some critical challenges to hold the score at the break.
In the second half Knebworth pressed forward. Patrick Anyadi moved up in to the middle of the field and made a difference, leaving just three at the back, which left goalie Sam Wyer to make some first class saves, and frustrate Baldock's strike force.
Knebworth continued to push forward, every player including 'keeper Wyer went up for corner after corner but the ball would just not cross the line and, as quickly as Baldock cleared it, Seals and Bosley were sending it straight back in.
A top class game of football which saw Knebworth defeated for the first time this season but they remain top of the first division.
