IN a close fought encounter it was Roebuck who scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory in extra time.

Last seasons double winners Broadhall were unbeaten all season, but if any team were likely to halt their run it was going to be Roebuck, who had taken a point from them in an earlier league meeting.

Wanderers' defence, marshalled superbly by Pearce, Cakir and Florence, was rarely breached and on the occasions it was, Goalkeeper HP provided a display full of confidence and competence.

The midfield was in turn governed by Roebuck's HVB and Bates, who thwarted most of Broadhall's attempts of gaining momentum, whilst causing untold problems when attacking.

They were ably assisted by the defending and counter-attacking display on the right flank of Sam Lucey, which was eye catching.

Both sides had a goal disallowed in the second half of normal time, before the nail-biting climax of extra time ensued.

A superb, defence-splitting ball from Giammarco, early in the first period of extra-time, gave Freddie the one opportunity he needed to cast off the shackles of his marker.

He cut through the opponents defence like a knife through butter before providing a clinical finish.

Anthony, Lewis, Green and Hunt all played their parts in what was a team performance and though this was a nip and tuck affair throughout,

Roebuck always had the edge and it was they who deservedly move on to the final.
