Under-13s County Cup

BROADHALL Youth remain the last team representing the Royston Crow Youth League in the under-13s County Cup after their fine win away to London Maccabi Lions saw them through to the semi-finals.

John Veal scored the first in a tough physical encounter when he hit the top corner of the net from the edge of the area and 10 minutes later Mitchell Pagett drove a low hard shot from outside the area to double the lead before getting his second of the game direct from a corner kick to make it 3-0 at half time.

The second half saw the home side pull one back with 10 minutes to go to make it 3-1 after Broadhall lost consistency by making seven changes.

All credit to the home side who never gave up the fight right until the final whistle.

This was a great result for Broadhall with all the players digging in even though at times the team lost its shape.

There were some strong performances from all of the back four with Billy putting in a confident display, George and Kalian winning the battle in the centre of midfield, Mitch playing one of his better games and John and Reece always looking dangerous.
